No Change to Level Up Points
... 00.12.07 I had received a total of 99 email in response to the question about whether or not to limit the number of level up points that you can transfer with when rededicating your class.
53 want to limit it - with 17 of those suggesting no points being transferred
Here are some of the basic reasons that I got from both the Pros (Keeping it as is) and the Cons (Changing it):
Pros:
People who save their level up points are at a disadvantage during their first path. They do not increase their stats during the 'saving' time and it impacts their ability to level and progress.
Cons:
The end result of my findings in this matter is that although it may cause a nuisance in the beginning, sub path characters that continue to play soon outweigh solo path characters in abilities, spells and overall power. 54% of the votes want the amount of level up points to be restricted, or removed all together, when you sub path. However, the sub pathing 'problem' has been in the game for so long that I would only feel comfortable removing it if it was a 75% vote. Since so many wanted to keep it, and it has been in the game for a long time, I have decided to keep it in the game. At the same time, though, I feel that there is definitely an advantage to sub pathing. So, to help offset this, I will begin to create quests and other such things that are only obtainable to those of the pure paths. As it stands now, all of the current projects on the boards (Master Class, Necromancy and Underwater areas) will be accessible to both sub path and pure path characters. Some future projects though will have areas that are only accessible to those of a pure path ((Perhaps a 'Pure Master' or other such ideas)). I want to thank you all for your suggestions and responses. I hope that the compromise I have come up with is to your liking.
Sincerely,
Dark Ages servers are fast and stable; running well below maximum load with 0 server lag at peak volume. If you do experience latency, test your connection ( http://www.darkages.com/support/trace_route.htm ).
