Foundling in Pravat

Pravat Cave - Investigating rumors of a strange unknown creature, an exploration party searched deep into Pravat Cave. A moon ago, rumors of a ghost white humanoid creature dwelling in the cave peeked the interest of Cytra, a mundane wizardess, researcher, and devoted follower of Luathas.

The expedition spent two days underground, returning near the surface only to renew the alliance with the Grimlok. At the end of the second day, Cytra's party returned with news.

Cytra's group reported discovering a "wild boy." The young albino appears as a human boy of 8 to 10 Deochs age. "Light hurts his very sensitive eyes." Noted Cytra, "So we keep him enshrouded in this cloak." Cytra intends to keep the boy at her laboratory to study him and acclimate him to the world above the ground.

The boy speaks a heavily accented Grimlok dialect of the common tongue. Cytra has pieced together some of his story. He was raised by a Grimlok worker after being discovered abandoned in a Grimlok mine shaft. No one has any speculation who the unfortunate child's parents are. Cytra says "It is sad, parents of unusual children abandon them rather than face the stigma, even in these enlightened Dark Ages"

Mundanes On Strike!

Sunny land Farm, Temuair's biggest supplier of eggs, cow milk, beef and chicken, have been run by Mundanes in unsafe conditions since Deoch 4. The Mundanes at Mileth's Sunny land Farm have had it. They've laid down their pitchforks and refuse to stand it any longer.

When Sunny land Farm's strike leader, Jessy, was asked when he decided enough was enough, the Mundane stroked his long gray beard, and stated "Why jus' the otha' day eh'twas, when one'ah them bulls busted through tha' there gate. Chased me cross tha' farm lans' it did! We need betta' gates, and a whole new ranch fer us ta' snooze in. We won't werk till' we gets it!" Hopefully the farm will get their demands soon, but who will give it to them? They've started a collection for restoration of the farm. Your donations can be sent via pigeon carried to Jessy, or dropped off at the farms in person.

Political Enhancement Problems Fixed

Recently, the Mundanes put to use a new political system. The new system consisted of a new sponsorship program, in which an Aisling official must be sponsored by one in office already, in order to take office. For the first Temuairian moon and a half, the new program was backwards. When the Mundane Burgesses Cedric and Eduardo were questioned about the mistake, both laughed and mumbled something about a party with 1 too many glasses of wine, and stated that the problems are now fixed.

Solar Eclipse

Several days ago ((yesterday)), there was a major blocking of the sun by the moon of our world. This was a major scientific break through for Temuair. Many Aislings were put to sleep as an effect of this phenomenon. Other Aislings were able to open their eyes slightly, yet see nothing but complete and utter darkness. ((Dark Ages was temporarily down for many))

The Mundane researchers are studying this, and why it caused Aislings such a problem. When interviewed, Dar, Mileth's dark wizard and researcher, had much to say about this. From what he believes, the loss of light due to the sudden blackening of the realm caused a "bird and blanket effect". In this theory, the bird in the cage is covered with a blanket, and the darkness makes the bird, in this case the Aislings, suddenly thinks it is time to sleep. Aisling Deoch Priestess, Josilyn, spoke a different reasoning. In her belief, the darkness covered the light of Deoch, making all Aislings feel weak and need to sleep. I guess the debate between scientific theories and religious ones will always be a debate never solved.
